On every 14 April, “National Dolphin Day” is listed as one of the pet health and veterinary awareness events by American Veterinary Medical Association, in order to raise the public awareness on the valuable dolphins.

It is difficult to identify NP individual and estimate the population size. Unfortunately, about 70% cetacean stranding incidents in Hong Kong waters are NPs. They may be facing larger extent of threats compared to SC and other cetacean species in our waters.
