// I'll be busy today, but at some point later I would like to open a google form for fact submissions, so watch out for that.
Despite featuring Maya as a main character throughout, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright is the only game featuring her to NOT feature any sort of spirit channelling.
This was done on purpose, to not conflate the "rules" of how magic operates in Labrynthia.
Takarazuka Revue, an all-female theatre troupe based in Japan, has actually done four separate adaptations of the Gyakuten Saiban series!
The first two are loosely inspired by Rise From The Ashes and Farewell, My Turnabout (?). The latter are original. Uploads exist of each one.
No one has gotten it yet, so I figured I'd post the answer.
The character I was thinking of was Yumi Temgashima from Gyakuten Saiban in Joypolis, a Japanese exclusive event.
Hence, the "most obscure" Ace Attorney character I could think of. More info on the event below!
I saw this and wanted to try and see if it could get the most obscure Ace Attorney character I could think of.
Can anyone guess the character I'm thinking of, based on these incorrect results? The third result was nonsense so I'm putting a character I think makes a good hint.
In a 2017 interview, director Takeshi Yamazaki describes some early gameplay of Gyakuten Kenji (Ace Attorney Investigations), back when Ema Skye was still meant to be the protagonist!
Originally, the game was set to take place over the seven year time-gap between AA3 and 4

... "that let her see traces left on a crime scene you couldn't normally see."
A potential early version of the Argument / Rebuttal system is discussed.
"Or you’d perform forensic investigation, followed by a questioning. ... As the investigation progressed, you'd be [quizzed]"
@Alicia_7528 Actually, the VR-20 cast didn't even cross my mind because I barely know anything about it! I've done some digging into it and struggled to find a lot of concrete information (as I cannot read Japanese), so picking a character would have been hard.
One day, hopefully!
According to a developer Q&A for Gyakuten Kenji 2 (Prosecutor's Gambit), the purpose of the trap on Tabby Lloyd's backpack is for her to catch food!
"Whenever she has to stake out for an article, she's able to catch food from her trap. [Not to capture people for interviews]."
@AA_Facts2 I did it when I was in Japan last summer. I only had time to the first case (just a basic frank sahwit one) with Google Translate but it was very surreal to play, to me, new ace attorney. We watched a dude play the “expert” final case, the breakdown of the killer was crazy 😭
@SamTheFoolish Oh my goodness! Thank you for the added screenshots, these are wonderful!
I find it so interesting that the art style they went with for Joypolis was the Mobile Trilogy HD art style, rather than the modern HD trilogy style.
Thank you for sharing these!
@MetaCykescology Always willing to help a fellow scholar! Originally, I was tempted to go with The Queen of England from The Great Ace Attorney Takarazuka, or a manga character, but thought Yumi would be funnier.
This is me, by the way. This is what I look like.
For more information, I would recommend simply reading the fandom-wiki's page on the event, as I'm not entirely read up on it. There's also some footage of the event, as I *believe* it has recently gone up again!

Joypolis is a japanese theme park branch, and 'Gyakuten Saiban in Joypolis' was an event exclusive to the Odaiba, Tokyo location. There was also a Gyakuten Kenji in Joypolis event that was held, all of which featured original cases!
Yumi is the victim of case 3, "Turnabout Don."
