1. The attention of the leadership of NANNM has been drawn to current attacks on health institutions with various forms of assault on nurses and midwives. This dastardly maiming, killing and abductions calls for caution by nurses and midwives.
3. ..of these heinous crime against humanity should be brought to book. Nigerian nurses and midwives should please take caution. Please note that our security is paramount and takes priority over anything else. Nurses are urged to be civil, remain calm and go about their lawful..

Triple A
Every second, every minute, every single day, Nurses in Nigeria & around the world put their own health & lives on the line to provide care for people they’ve never met before.
Take time today to honour their selflessness and bravery on #WorldHealthDay, Celebrate a Nurse today!!
@ptcij B. Nurses makes up approximately half of the health workforce, hence training on infection prevention and control protocols has been part of our training itineraries but funding to ensure such training cut across the 3 levels of health care system have long been a bottleneck.
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria B. It is expected that hospitals would build dormitories or provide separate accommodation for their Nurses that are fighting the pandemic. However some hospitals have poor adheeance to this policy. #PTCIJHEALTHDAY#NMCovid19
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria A. There are some international standards that some facilities in Nigeria are not adhering to at the moment. Ideally, Nurses at the front-line should be isolated from families and loved ones. #PTCIJHEALTHDAY#NMCovid19
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria B. I would like to use this medium to remember #JustinaEjelonu who did not receive enough recognition for her heroic action during the Ebola crisis. Government can do better in the appreciation of nurses and midwives for a job welldone. #PTCIJHEALTHDAY#NMCovid19
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria A. Soldiers go to war and are recognised for their act of bravery. Nurses and Midwifes are at the front-line fighting a pandemic and they should definitely be recognised for their efforts.
@ptcij@AiyedunLawal The number of nurses we have is highly inadequate to fight the pandemic. There is a call to government to improve recruitment, retention and remuneration to nurses in the country #PTCIJHEALTHDAY#NMCovid19
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria The National Health act of 2014 made it compulsory for every health professional to have indemnity but this only happens in the midst of havoc. #PTCIJHEALTHDAY#NMCovid19
@ptcij@nannm_nigeria However some states have adopted certain guidelines for pandemics. For instance in UBTH, N5mil is rendered if a Nurse dies, but if the Nurse is treated & survives, a treatment & reimbursement fee of N500,000 is given but this has not been adopted across board
