I've read posts that suggest that Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/Mr. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi was unjustifiably maligned in the Okudzeto Ablakwa exposés following the CHRAJ ruling that the man's passport issued to him bears the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. The CHRAJ ruling, his defenders say, means he is cleared of the alleged double identity saga. Many questions, however, remain unanswered. 1. Unless someone goes through the legal process to change his name, he is expected to use one name/identity, especially in official documents. And if you change your name, the expectation is that your new name will be used for official transactions. 2. In the case of this pastor, many of us knew him as Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, until Okudzeto's revelation. 3. His wife is called Mrs. Anita Kusi Boateng, the Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). 4. His passport bears the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. 6. His driver's licence bears the name Victor Kusi Boateng 7. The names Victor Kusi Boateng and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi appear in the Electoral Commission Ghana's register for the 2016 and 2020 elections with a photograph that appears to be the same person. 8. According to this letter from the Ghana Revenue Authority, Victor Kusi Boateng and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi used different source documents to register with the authority. The letter is in response to Okedzeto Ablakwa's request for information, which he said he needed to confirm the different tax registration numbers used in companies relating to Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/Mr. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. 9. Victor Kusi Boateng and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi have different mothers and different dates of birth, according to the GRA document. 10. So, despite the CHRAJ ruling on only one of the documents that bears the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, questions still remain. 11. Is he Mr. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi or Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng? If he's the same person, how does he explain the different dates of birth and mothers unless this GRA document refers to two separate people? 12. And is it lawful for the same individual to use different names or identities in dealing with different state agencies? Okudzeto has won a case in court on this saga and I'm told Rev. Kusi Boateng/ Kwabena Adu Gyamfi has appealed. The appeal is yet to be determined, but what CHRAJ said is like saying, his driver's licence has always been issued in the name of Victor Kusi Boateng. That would still have not answered the question of the other documents and details.
