Electing UCP in Alberta is like hiring a home administrator for your home. One who will sell off your property, keep the profits for himself & his friends, & run up huge bills on YOUR credit cards. STOP electing these people. #AbPoli#AbLeg#ByeUCP
@WalterKlingler@mtgreenee Believe me, I hate having to say this, but they elect disgraceful clowns because they want a representative who looks, sounds and thinks just like them. We have the same problem here in Alberta.
@savage2diamond @TIA_Lucas20520 This is true for all people. Christianity has been a scourge everywhere and continues to be so today, everywhere and to all people.
Billionaires do not compete to go to space for the betterment of humanity or out of the generosity of their hearts. They do it because they hope to claim mining rights on the moon, Mars and asteroids, making them and their heirs multiple trillionaires.
2. That is how the insurrectionists were able to convince themselves that they were doing the moral thing. Top-down theistic religions like Christianity are always involved, hand-in-hand with the growth of fascism.
1. Christianity openly teaches that morality is whatever God says it is, even if it involves murder, rape, genocide, etc. Christians tend to take their Christian leader's (Pastor's, political leader's) word for what God wants. .....
U.S. - Police officer testifying says Jan. 6 insurrectionists ‘perceived themselves to be Christians’: ‘I saw the Christian flag directly to my front,’ recounted police officer Daniel Hodges. ‘Another read ‘Jesus is my savior, Trump is my president.’’ via /r/atheism …
More Afghan nationals who helped Canadian military expected to be resettled 'very shortly' https://t.co/jmVRdTPrnA via @CTVNews
This is exactly what Canada should do. We should also help other Afghans, who want to escape the Taliban, achieve refugee status.
This is an excellent idea! Fears of some terrible mutation r groundless. They r not creating random mutations (as everyday evolution does) they are coding for 1 benign (to humans) protein. This has been studied & recommended for decades & can save many lives.

@donerickson58 Albertans threw out the NDP, who were handling the downturn well & were supporting education & alternative sources of energy (& jobs) & put the Cons back into power. The Cons have gutted education & failed miserably at job creation. There's no fixing stupid!
@DavidHak @MondoAlberta Technically true, but the term "Semitic peoples" has been used for hundreds of years in historical documents and ethnological studies to refer to peoples who dominantly speak Semitic languages.
1. What too many ignorant people don't seem to realize, in their tweets re: the Israel/Palestine conflict, is that Palestinians are a Semitic people. If being against Israeli actions is anti-Semitic, then being against Palestinian actions is anti-Semitic.
It's an especially poor showing given that their numbers are severely dropping in highly educated regions of the world and are only rising in the worst educated regions.
@MondoAlberta Agreed! But it is only co-opted to the extent that we allow the ignorant to hold sway over the conversation. I refuse to play their game. Anti-Semitism means anti-Semitism, not anti-Jewish nor anti-Israel, and I don't hesitate to say so.
3. If you don’t want to be considered an ignorant lout when you talk about people who take a position that is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel, stop calling it anti-Semitic.
2. Being anti-Jewish became known as anti-Semitism in Europe because Jews, long ago, were by far the majority of Semitic people living in Europe. In the Middle East, though, there are many Semitic peoples, INCLUDING THE PALESTINIANS.
@motherplaylist In a similar vein, if you've ever gone hiking in Scotland and asked a local for directions, "up the road a piece" could mean anything from 200 meters to 20 km.
@BobSmithers16 @CBCNews@peggylam_ Agreed! But #Conservatism is like a religion to many. They feel a deep need to preserve a fantasy of exaggerated nobility for the ancestors. This is a common characteristic among conservatives among all peoples, globally.
@NunatsiaqNews Google doesn't translate Inuktitut. It would be nice if you could supply an English translation to help educate southerners about northern life. Or possibly someone could develop a Google-style translation site we could use.
@kim_siever I will probably vote NDP but I don't see them picking up much more than 15 to 20 seats. People are still too fearful of splitting the vote enough to give the Cons power.
