One of the biggest failures of Pakistan’s information warfare is that even the people sitting in government offices have no understanding of how language shapes perception.
Look at this statement, apparently coming from an official Pakistani channel:
“Balochistan and Pakistan together can achieve peace, progress and prosperity.”
What the hell is Balochistan and Pakistan?
Balochistan IS Pakistan.
Have you ever heard a government official repeatedly say “Punjab and Pakistan”, “Sindh and Pakistan” or “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan” as though they were two separate entities?
Yet somehow, when it comes to Balochistan, this distinction has become almost normal.
And this is precisely where the psychological dimension comes in.
For years, Indian media outlets and Baloch separatist propaganda networks have promoted the idea of Balochistan and Pakistan as two distinct political identities. Their messaging repeatedly frames Pakistan as an external entity rather than the country of which Balochistan is a national, territorial & constitutional part.
Now look at the irony. Our own government communication is reproducing the same linguistic framing.
This is not merely a grammatical mistake. Words carry associations. Repeated associations shape perceptions, and over time, perceptions can become accepted assumptions.
In psychological warfare, you don’t necessarily have to convince someone through a direct argument. Sometimes, all you need is to normalize a particular way of describing reality until people stop questioning it.
And when Pakistani officials themselves begin using language that mirrors separatist framing, they are handing their adversaries an unnecessary advantage.
I have noticed this repeatedly, not just in written statements but in speeches, official messaging and public discussions.
The people responsible for our national communication need to understand something very basic: You cannot effectively counter a narrative when you are unconsciously reproducing its framing.
Whether this reflects years of exposure to hostile narratives, sheer incompetence or simply a complete lack of linguistic awareness, the result is the same.
And the most frustrating part? The people making these blunders are often the very people entrusted with countering such narratives.
Balochistan is not a separate entity standing alongside Pakistan. Balochistan is part of Pakistan.
If our own officials cannot get something this elementary right, what exactly are they doing in the information domain?
The prevalence of crimes, injustice, illiteracy, poverty, and 26 million children out of school is not visible to the Sharif or Bhutto family.
They have the illusion that whatever they are doing is popular among the masses.
Just an illusion!
ملک بھر کے سکول و مدارس کے 5 لاکھ ہونہار طلبہ میں کروم بکس کی تقسیم کا آغاز https://t.co/8MSNkydAyl
It will not raise the literacy rate in Pakistan. It will still be the lowest in Asia.
Can he bring 26 million out-of-school children to school?
Implement Article 25A!!!!!
روزنامہ دنیا :- پاکستان:- ڈویلپمنٹ کا تاریخی دور شروع ، ترقی ہر شہر، گاؤں تک پہنچ رہی:مریم نواز https://t.co/lr8XCxy1gz
She never utters the word "literacy" in her speeches. 10 million children in Punjab are out of school. She does not CARE.
She is ruling like the British.
“The TTP or Hafiz Gul Bahadar understand the language of love…” says the newly appointed (by the Federal Govt) Deputy Chief of the Area Representative & Development Council (ADRC). (Note: ADRC consists largely of tribal chiefs)
Here is what a Chinese scholar said about these chiefs, & the Pakistani Government’s foolish tactic of relying on them for negotiations back in the day:
“He described the ‘soft then hard’ (negotiations followed by military operations) approach as a ‘trap’ for the Pakistani Government that encourages local tribes to seek concessions in the negotiation phase, &, after tribal leaders fail to keep their commitments, stokes tribal opposition to the Government during the military operations phase. ‘Every time there is a deal,’ Ye said, ‘the government claims it has achieved progress, then three months later, more violence…’ Ye criticized the Pakistan Government's practice of negotiating with local tribal chieftains because it leaves intact the ‘social system’ in the FATA that encourages support of the Taliban. Ye said that, for the Pakistan Government, the problem of control in the FATA is ‘not a lack of willingness, it is a lack of ability.’”

Have you ever heard @MaryamNSharif utter the word literacy in her speeches? Or has she announced plans to build more primary schools for 10million children out of school in Punjab,
She just wants to control &rule every citizen in the villages & cities through Secretaries of UCs.
