@DXMIMZY If I understand it correctly, so long as you at least played through the Final Shape, you just need to log in literally once this weekend before the final patch and it’ll count?
Guys who are on account #2 of started w/ PC are the real short-end-of-the-stick-hackers.
@PaulTassi The former is likely far more expensive to maintain than the latter? Likewise, everyone in Marathon is largely in one playlist. Everyone in Destiny is spread around a dozen+ game modes.
Also, neither of these are Fortnite numbers—which ALSO cant sustain itself cost-wise.
@themacattack54@ChazakielDoremi True, but that took several years to get rolling, not ‘overnight’. Meanwhile alt subcultures were already waning long before the movie.
That these irl countercultures died out right when Phone became the primary social outlet worldwide seems to be the true culprit here.
@PaulTassi Believe the idea is to collude and overwhelm the team by sheer numbers? Like what can happen in outpost if you wipe the lobby fast enough. Still, only one exfil would make the alliance, eh, ‘temporary’
@Kareshy_Oruta Ah, you see, but if Palpatine were preparing for a Force-immune, extra-galactic threat all along… (gets yanked offstage by a comically large cane)
@nyxamori@StarRailVerse1 They haven’t actually gone back and replaced TB’s dialogue from before that very last 2.x patch yet afaik.
Honestly I think the new guy is enough of a soundalike that they probably could’ve just carried on from Planarcadia and some people wouldn’t have noticed a swap.
@PaulTassi Considering the next expansion was due within like a month, can we really discount a Toy Story 2 situation where all the data was lost or corrupted so bad it couldn’t be delivered?
If it were so far along, seems harder to cancel it than force it out the door past a point.
@TC_Indiana@JadeAtrophis He runs around with Merlin and other mythological figures and it is therefore a Fantasyland Isekai for the same reasons as Army of Darkness.
@NuCaloric Almost certainly cope but the thought of all this being a Hail Mary pass to get people back praising the game, therefore convincing Sony to hand them more money to at least finish the next expansion has crossed my mind.
@BrunosEspresso8@danhuilla And it has one game mode and significantly fewer vestigial systems to work around when designing things? That’s all I’m saying, man. Neither game was doing Fortnite numbers.
@MathRockSucked I was thinking that a ‘Destiny is BACK!’ hype cycle would probably be better some years from now than a ‘remember that still-limping-along game whose last uncontroversial expansion was 2024? You can grind everything from scratch again in a threequel’ news cycle.
@danhuilla I kind of felt that ‘D2’s player count is not evenly distributed’ was self evident tbh. That’s all this means. How many people were playing gambit or trials on any given day over the past year?
To say nothing of vestigial systems, technical debt, etc.
