I strongly condemn the forcible removal of Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar after his 21-day hunger strike. Peaceful democratic protests must be met with dialogue, not suppression. The Union Government must engage with the legitimate demands of the protest committee and ensure a just, transparent, and democratic resolution. #SonamWangchuk #RightToProtest #Democracy #Ladakh #NEET #SDPI
Today we remember MM Kalburgi, the fearless rationalist and scholar, who was silenced by Hindutva extremists in 2015.
His voice for free thought, reason, and dissent still echoes. Hate bullets can kill a man, but not his ideas.

Under the PMLA Act, out of the 5,500 cases registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the last five years (from 01.01.2019 to 31.10.2024), convictions have been secured in only 42 cases (6.42%). Despite the Supreme Court's reprimand, have they still not learned their lesson?

I am grateful to the esteemed Ulemas of Mangaluru for coming together in unity to organize a rally and protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 today. Their collective efforts in safeguarding community rights and standing for justice are truly commendable.
I urge all Ulemas across the state to initiate a democratic struggle against this amendment, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and their concerns are addressed. It is our responsibility to protect the integrity of Waqf institutions and uphold the rights of the community through peaceful and lawful means.
SDPI expresses grave concern over the alarming allegations of electoral malpractice and collusion involving the BJP, the ECI and certain private agencies. These allegations, if proven true, strike at India’s democratic principles and the integrity of its electoral processes.
