🇮🇩 Whoahh! This is crazy! (Keep watching).
A tornado hit Tanjung Sengkuang, Batam City, Riau Islands Province in Indonesia today.
It's almost invisible and came out of nowhere 👀
😢 The tragedy of Britain has never been a lack of wealth or resources. We’ve had coal, steel, oil and gas, fertile farmland, world-class universities, scientific innovation and now some of Europe’s best renewable energy potential. There has always been more than enough to build a prosperous, secure society.
The problem has never been scarcity. It’s that too much of that wealth has flowed upwards instead of being shared more broadly.
Today’s divisions aren’t inevitable. They are the result of political and economic choices. Britain isn’t poor bc it had nothing to give. Britain is struggling because, too often, a small minority has captured the rewards while asking everyone else to accept less.
That’s the real tragedy of modern Britain: there has always been enough to share, but not enough willingness among those with the greatest power and wealth to do so.

I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
I think what drives high achieving scientists to China, besides better research students and well-funded labs, is China’s genuine commitment to solving real world problems that make lives better.
Not everyone wants profit maximisation.
In Italy those responsible for 43 people dying because of their actions are sent to prison. Not one arrest has been made following Grenfell, Hillsborough, Blood Scandal, Postmaster Horizon scandal, soldiers exposure to radiation scandal, PPE and care home scandal. We are told Italy has a Mafia problem.
Borja Iglesias refused to play for Spain while former federation president Luis Rubiales remained in power after forcibly kissing Jenni Hermoso.
Borja is now back with the national team, and Jenni was in attendance yesterday. Full circle moment.
The catastrophic twin earthquakes in Venezuela have now claimed at least 4,734 lives, with 16,740 people injured and over 17,900 left homeless.
Emergency crews are working tirelessly as the UN estimates nearly 50,000 PEOPLE REMAIN MISSING under the rubble in Caracas and La Guaira.
Here you go.
The last dying kicks of this corrupted, authoritarian government.
This is being done under the State Threats Bill that Mahmood and allies like Luke Akehurst pushed through Parliament in the last month. This is going to have wild, unpredictable effects. Practically what it will mean is that it will be almost impossible for media outlets to work with on- the-ground journalists to report on Iran, Gaza or Lebanon.
But I fear this will also be turned on the movement protesting Israel's genocide in Gaza.
Don't believe me? Just days ago NGO Monitor produced a wild-eyed report, endorsed by Lord Walney and Michael Gove, that paints the huge public protests in the UK against Israel's genocide as the work of an international campaign linked to nefarious foreign actors. The report urged the IRGC to be proscribed.
Proscribing the IRGC is one of the most consistent and powerful demands of the Board of Deputies and other pro-Israel organisations.
Deeply chilling, authoritarian, irresponsible stuff. Mahmood and the Labour Together project have waged a vicious war on our democracy and basic civil liberties.
The reason "Everything is a Subscription" is because the elites realized that if you "own" things, you are dangerous. If you own your house, your car, and your tools, you can say "No." If you rent your life, you have to say "Yes" to everything.
Here’s what @andyburnham should have said.
“I will
1. Break all diplomatic relations with Israel and expel the ambassador. Immediately end all weapons transfers to Israel. Immediately end all military support and diplomatic cover. Pledge to enforce the ICC ruling and join the South African legal case at the ICJ.
2. Place sweeping sanctions across all Israeli politicians and military in the chain of command.
3. Immediately remove the proscription against Palestine Action and end all other attempts to repress Palestinian activism.
4. Immediately launch an inquiry into the previous two governments complicity in genocide, with arrests being a possible outcome against Starmer, Cooper, Lammy, Cameron, and Sunak.
5. Demand that Israel immediately removes all restrictions on aid and ends its repression of humanitarian organisations in Gaza. If those restrictions are not lifted, Britain will mobilise a joint UN military force that will enforce R2P to end further genocidal crimes.”
These are just the basic building blocks of how we should respond to Genocide.
Let's be clear, the powerful interests that control this country are ALLOWING Andy Burnham to be Prime Minister. They wouldn't do that if they didn't think he'd do what they want once in power.
Madame Celeste Amarilla,
