By the start of the conflict with Iran this year, the military was using a mix of PowerPoint, email, chat, and Excel to connect various processes (even those that featured automation). Some military maneuvers sat in Gantt charts… again, in PowerPoint.
But the volume of targets — up to thousands per day — was too high for a manual process like this.
So in early January, the military called Palantir: “The president’s asking for stuff. We’re already not sleeping. Come here.”
