Okay, Rob. If you think “giving the people a say” is such a great idea, why don’t you add questions on CPP, data centres, a $20 minimum wage, the use of the Notwithstanding Clause, a wealth tax, higher corporate taxes, guardrails on disinformation etc. I dare you. #Hypocrite
Just a little something to chew on...
Our prov govt wants to add even MORE private pay HC to our system and pretend like it's less than other countries... (and cherry pick parts of other systems)
We already pay far too much out of pocket compared to so many other countries...
Canadian inflation up to 2.4% YoY in March from 1.8% in February, largely reflecting a 21.2% jump in gasoline prices. Excluding gasoline, inflation slowed from 2.4% to 2.2%.

Smith is going full on anti-expertise.
this is a fucking disaster to the publicly funded system which will be inundated with patients asking what their tests mean to them clinically.
I suggest every MD in @YourAlberta refer such patients to their health minister for answers.
JD Vance is lecturing the Pope on Catholicism and Pierre Poilievre is lecturing Mark Carney on economics and RFK Jr is lecturing scientists about vaccines and Donald Trump is lecturing the world on tariffs and Pete Hegseth is quoting Pulp Fiction and thinking it’s the Bible
Danielle Smith's UCP is halting construction of a school because of costs, while her friend Sam Mraiche still sits on $49 million in government funds (i.e. enough to build this school twice). #ABPoli#ABEd
Priorities, amirite?

Today Smith claimed that she voted in favor of striking a new electoral boundaries commission and that the majority of MLA's in the elegislature did as well.
Only one problem.
That vote didn't happen yesterday.
It happens next Tuesday.

Alberta’s premier says the NDP leader is “not telling the truth” in his allegation that the UCP is trying to rig the next election. But as Sean Amato reports, others agree that the government’s moves on electoral boundaries are suspicious. #ableg

@PierrePoilievre At this be point it should be clear to everyone that @PierrePoilievre’s comms team hates him and is setting him up to fail. No comms director can be stupid enough to allow the same stale talking points that caused the loss of the last election to be reused- this is serious malice
Lorne Gunter is incorrect. Giving patients unfettered access to lab tests pluse MRIs and CTs without clinical indication will lead to more incidental findings that require further publicly funded testing which will INCREASE healthcare costs.

There is a reason that we do not have MLAs decide on electoral boundaries. Tossing out the Electoral Boundaries Commission and replacing it with a UCP-dominated committee is not just a bad idea. It is really bad for democracy. Ask the US, ask Hungary. This is not normal!
The Premier’s comments here are NONSENSE
She has no clue what she’s talking about here. NONE
Doing the right test on the right pt can save money down the road
Indiscriminate testing wastes money… endless EVIDENCE to support this… but instead let’s go w media host’s opinion
Scheer, who once almost completed his certification as an insurance professional, explains how he believes that Stephen Harper appointed a badly educated man with three prestigious economics degrees as Governor of the Bank of Canada.
