That is a great price. Look like a HRV which is a good thing as it look normal. SUV design which is prefer by Malaysian.
Still it does 400km just the DC charging a bit slow.
With Honda backup and service network should be peace of mind during 8 years warranty.

This is what Miti should pay attention to. 1 in 8 sold in 2025 is gray import.
But Miti target CBU EV with stupid CIF rules.
How many grey-import cars were sold in Malaysia in 2025? MAA sales and JPJ reg data compared - https://t.co/59udPLTe9M https://t.co/bq3T4Leqmi

If BEV is on good range at same price, dont choose Hybrid. You need maintain another engine and pay for petrol at higher price. Even PHEV also have the same problem.
The benefit of going direct BEV is huge.
Insya'allah menjelang penghujung tahun 2026, pendaftaran kumulatif kenderaan elektrik akan melebihi kenderaan hybrid dan menghampiri jumlah kenderaan LNG, natural gas dll.
Sehingga bulan April 2026 sebanyak 187,693 buah kenderaan hybrid telah didaftarkan berbanding 140,529 EV ๐
Well, Miti better put a ceiling price for chinese CBU motorcycle to protect consumer from low quality import and encourage CKD.
How about at RM100k CIF before tax? That should be affordable in the eyes of Miti

Quite am enjoyable funny little discussion from both guest.
One very pro ICE and one very future looking.
By saying hybrid is the future and not EV is not a great prediction IMO.
In general I dont really agree to most of what DSF say. Too biase.

Just wanna share this video thumbnail of Tesla Killer.
DongFeng 007.
I just cant understand why the need to use the world Tesla killer on review of EV.
Wont it be funny that the Tesla killer only register less than 10 car in Malaysia?
So 007 got kill?

The new regulations concerning CBU electric vehicles can accelerate the development of a local EV ecosystem while strengthening the shift to CKD local assembly and improve technology transfer, says Pekema.
https://t.co/RfsVOYt5Mr
Dongfeng business strategy is puzzling. Based on JPJ data, their sales of Vigo and 007 is very low while Box also not that impressive, why still push for CKD?
Izzit due to the new Miti ruling ?
But if sales is low, CKD also wont help.

Dongfeng will begin the local assembly (CKD) of its EVs in Malaysia this year. This was revealed by Soh Ming, the Founder and CEO of Volt Auto who is the distributor of Dongfeng passenger cars in Malaysia.
However, the exact CKD models, production partner, and timeline will only be announced at a later date.
Dongfeng so far has launched 3 models in Malaysia including Box, Vigo, and 007. The brand is planning to showcase the MHero II, 008, and Voyah Dream at the upcoming KLIMS 2026.

Parallel importer club Pekema says MITI's new CBU EV regs is needed to protect the auto industry from dumping by China. It will also boost the development of a local ecosystem. Full story here

I dont see how and why it will be healthy.
If MAA believe that move healthy means the current ICE policy is not healthy bcos it lack the minimum price policy.
MAA cant thumbs up the move on EV but silent on ICE CBU and Recond car policy.
"This recent move will eventually lead to a healthy market environment that is balanced and sustainable for the EV ecosystem" - MAA president.

For those read headline, they request to increase excise duty from 2% to 32% and 80% local content for CKD.
That is ok, at least the gov are not imposing RM200K CIF minimum price.
Even at 32% tax I believe RM150k EV CBU is still possible better than RM300k CBU EV.
Cheap CBU EVs from China isn't just a problem for the Malaysian auto industry. Now, Thai auto groups are lobbying their govt to raise taxes for imports. 80% local content? Here are their issues and demands in full

PPKMKL love ICE but not EV due to lack of parts and expertise.
Well, since Proton is the largest EV seller currently, go protest at Proton showroom.
Proton sell cheap EV, Proton didnt build charging station, Proton CKD China design EV.
