If BEV is on good range at same price, dont choose Hybrid. You need maintain another engine and pay for petrol at higher price. Even PHEV also have the same problem.

Dongfeng will begin the local assembly (CKD) of its EVs in Malaysia this year. This was revealed by Soh Ming, the Founder and CEO of Volt Auto who is the distributor of Dongfeng passenger cars in Malaysia.

However, the exact CKD models, production partner, and timeline will only be announced at a later date.

Dongfeng so far has launched 3 models in Malaysia including Box, Vigo, and 007. The brand is planning to showcase the MHero II, 008, and Voyah Dream at the upcoming KLIMS 2026.

For those read headline, they request to increase excise duty from 2% to 32% and 80% local content for CKD.
That is ok, at least the gov are not imposing RM200K CIF minimum price.
Even at 32% tax I believe RM150k EV CBU is still possible better than RM300k CBU EV.
