Another Resolution Passed! A Resolution in Support of the Rutgers’ MidKnight Snacks Program urges the Big Ten Universities to create their own respective programs and bring awareness to Heavy Episodic Drinking (HED) for the sake of campus safety.
Another resolution passed! The ABTS is Now Calling for the Federal Action to Cancel the Line 3 Pipeline. The Line 3 Pipeline is the expansion of a 1,097 mile tar sands oil pipeline stretching across parts of Canada, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and stolen Anishinaabe land.
ABTS just passed at our winter conference the first resolution from our Legislative Docket: “A Resolution in Support of Comprehensive Sustainability Goals from Big Ten Schools to Reach Carbon Neutrality and Divest from Fossil Fuels” from the delegation of Ohio State University
Gurty has been a familiar face for all student leaders in the Big Ten. She has served as a fierce advocate for students in whatever role she takes on. It is no surprise to see her join this impressive list of Truman Scholars. Congrats Gurty!

At our 2020 Winter Conference, Big Ten Student leaders passed a resolution encouraging all of their universities to divest from fossil fuels. Since then, @RutgersU and @UMich have taken big steps in combatting the climate crisis; it's time the rest of the Big Ten follows suit:
The 14 Student Body Presidents in the Big Ten have joined the ABTS Executive Board in standing in solidarity with the AAPI community, following the events on Tuesday in Atlanta.
@TS_Coalition HEA was last authorized in 2008 but has since expired. Today's students deserve policy solutions that meet the moment, like expanding Pell funding and FAFSA simplification. Today's students face more than ever before and need more resources than ever before. #TSCTwitterWeek
