This looks better than 90% of trailers for anything I've seen in the last 5 years! really good trailer at a minimum. For the film, it's a lot of hard work to do live action/animation mix, glad this is seeing the light of day.
Seth MacFarlane says they used AI to make him look like Bill Clinton in ‘TED’ Season 2.
“It's an interesting example of how AI can be used as a tool... We tried prosthetics, we tried traditional CGI, everything else just looked terrifying”

Main reaction: horrifying. Maybe within episode, I might have found surprising and hilarious, but my reaction out of context is it feels SO wrong and wasn't worth doing. I would rather see a non-Seth Clinton impersonator/actor play him with wig in costume, likely funnier.

This was a very weird and interesting movie. Small scale oddness, some nice crazy scenes. Not as broad in scope or ambition as a few of his earlier films, but I think in an interview he said he had limited budget.
Our new Criterion Premieres edition of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's CLOUD has entered the collection! ☁️🖤

A gonzo revenge thriller, a darkly comic anticapitalist critique, and a dizzying plunge into the alienated abyss of the internet, CLOUD is among the most audacious genre experiments to date from master of psychological tension Kurosawa.
Happy birthday to John Adams, a brilliant composer and conductor, as well as a dear collaborator as our John and Samantha Williams Creative Chair. From the US premiere of “Frenzy” in October to your new piano concerto “After the Fall,” which we performed with you and Víkingur Ólafsson, to the continuing project of the LA Phil Etudes, there has been much to celebrate this season. We can’t wait to experience more of your extraordinary music in the upcoming year!

Had breakfast with a CAA agent this morning & asked him about the recent spike in screenwriting spec sales.
“Honestly, this is only the beginning. There are many others in play right now as we speak. It’s as excited as I’ve been in 15 years. And don’t sleep on some sectors of TV as well. Second half of the year especially.”
So, there you have it. Carry on.

Every single bigger win I’ve had in this industry, from landing and agent (both lit and theatrical) to being cast in Dark Winds, I can stem directly back to things I made myself for no money.
It’s not for everyone and will ultimately still come down to if the thing you make is really good, but if you think you can pull it off, I can’t recommend it enough.
