As per @IncomeTaxIndia the portal is working just fine.
I challenge them to issue a statement with proofs stating that there is no issue with the Income Tax Portal & the date will not be extended.

If you are not going to extend the due date at least make sure the e-filing portal is working. For the past hour I'm not able to upload any return nor could I download AIS/TIS or 26AS.This is becoming a torture.
