OrcaSlicer V2.5.0 Alpha is here 🐋
This is the most feature-packed release in OrcaSlicer's history: more than 950 pull requests from over 140 contributors.
🧩 Python plugins: extend the slicer without maintaining a fork, and share your plugins on Orca Cloud
🧱 Texture Displacement: stamp real, printable 3D texture onto any surface
🎨 Color mixing: blend new colors from the filaments you already have loaded
🏭 Belt printing: conveyor "infinite Z" printers, sliced natively
👯 IDEX & IQEX parallel printing: two to four parts at once
✏️ Design tab: a parametric CAD workspace inside the slicer (early preview)
⚡ Speed Dial: press Space, run anything
Plus Tool-changing algorithm improvements, precise Seam modifiers, startup in about half the time, slicing ~35% faster, and hundreds of fixes.
It's an alpha, so some of this is experimental. Back up the projects you care about.

Well here we are 2.5 weeks later. 3 phone calls and missed deadline by @Venmo@VenmoSupport@AskPayPal . I have a fully approved paypal business account, and no one at venmo will give me any more info than "its under investigation". Ive provided plenty of documentation....
Hello friends, this person on @BambulabGlobal Makerworld has stolen my model: https://t.co/InZ9E1dmg2
The individual pieces are designed by ME,that green mask is uniquely mine & has been a member model on @Thangs3D since March. If you could help report this that would be great!!
@chaotictransfem Knowing all the unavoidable ways I will lose those I care about and being able to do nothing about it is a truly terrifying idea, no amount of success, love, or security can counter that. I'll smash that green button safe from having to relive all of that.
@geerlingguy I agree with the curious curating conundrum, at best it is honest and helps people get a balanced view but I fear it does more to reinforce bias and provide a false sense of being informed. I would like to believe people seek truth but most are looking to scaffold up their bubble
@MandicReally Like most things, it depends, I have some tuned profiles and they get thrown at new brands as "close enough" until I see issues or try something really off the wall. Then its scratch built profiles and all calibrations. Don't much care for defaults though, too many compromises.
@ChandlerCloud9@sofiatieger You are aware that different building codes exist depending on environmental factors right? Like we dont build the same in Florida as we do in Maine, or Oklahoma, Washington, California, or the Dakotas. We build to the resources and environment surrounding us.

@ZombieHedgehog_ My paranoid brain cant help but look at free, but not open, systems and wonder what they are taking from me to cover that cost. What is the long play in this to lock me into a system and what are my options to opt out. Great for those willing to make those compromises but not me.
My intention wasn't to lambast you or Prusa, but was more of a word of warning about the potential effects of some of the proposed mandatory scanning laws. I completely understand the cost of compute and don't want gun scanning software to force that to be the norm. I'm thankful for Prusa's continued commitment to the open source community and don't want the government to interfere
Update on lil miss aka Polska our kitty, she is still on oxygen. She has severe pneumonia her lungs on xray are white not black. She had surgery Monday and was on a HEAVY dose of anesthesia. So that is not a good recipe. Fingers crossed and if you pray maybe send a prayer.
So pet owners this was tonight's Animal Emergency Vet visit. Keep in mind Monday see had a surgery that was $1300 and tonight another $2060 and the balance will be due at pick up. Not asking for help but if you can or want to message for my @CashApp@PayPal or @Venmo
@ZombieHedgehog_@MattRisinger would be proud to see more people talking about build science and building better, smarter, and with an eye for the details.
@CanuckCreator This should be the default regardless if you like them or not. Best to keep them on thier toes and know your displeasure is always right there.
@reprinted3D@BondtechAB You know I could forgive it if they were transparent about it, like sorry everyone we cant deliver what we promised and if people want to cancel that's understandable. But they didnt they quietly removed it and even when presented with evidence they just brush it off. Nope 🖕
@reprinted3D@seanami@BondtechAB@Sovol3d I really wish someone else had been chosen as that designer does not seem very Open source friendly, every "original" design is completely locked down even though they have regularly remixed others files. @Sovol3d needs to attach a license to the #SV08Max as well on Github.
Hey @BambulabGlobal , I have a user on Makerworld that is blatantly violating my models under the license which they were released.
Multiple reports, across multiple days with no response or action.
And now they have just threatened that they are going to do it to more of my models.
Can we have the option to turn off third party profiles?
Designers shouldn't have to be wasting this time and energy to rectify something which should be optional.
First of all, thank you for your patience and understanding.
Our launch on July 3rd ran into issues with the website that prevented orders from going through — we're sorry for the frustration that caused.
We've spent the extra time optimizing the website together with our hosting partner and increasing its capacity. While no online launch is ever completely predictable, we've done everything we can to prepare for the demand.
INDX Development Kit Orders Open
Wednesday, July 15 at 15:00 CEST
The INDX Development Kit is built for makers, developers, and innovators who want to explore what's possible with the INDX ecosystem. Whether you're planning your first multi-tool setup or already have exciting ideas in mind, we're looking forward to seeing what you'll create.
Since the original Founders pricing was announced, component costs have increased, and we've continued to develop both the Tool and the Toolhead with additional features and improvements. As a standalone product, the Development Kit therefore has its own updated pricing.
Delivery is expected to begin during the first half of September.
Thank you for your patience and for being part of this journey.
Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support have meant so much to all of us, and we can't wait to get INDX into your hands.
