A wayward renegade yearning for home. Word of the day (and every day) is hygge. Uber hobbit.
All I need is Christ, a warm hearth, glass of bourbon, and books
Two important sections of the Coronation Oath:
‘the Church established by law, whose settlement you will swear to
maintain, is committed to the true profession of the Gospel, and, in so
doing, will seek to foster an environment in which people of all faiths and
beliefs may live freely?’
Possibly more important -
‘Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the
true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power
maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion
established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolably the
settlement of the Church of England, and the doctrine, worship, discipline,
and government thereof, as by law established in England?’
My loyalty to him depends on him keeping to this Oath.
I can’t help, but wonder if Elizabeth fought to live so long because she knew on some level that this is what her feckless son would do.
Prov 10:1—“A foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.”
White people are terrified of being seen as racist.
If white guilt permeates the online world and our schools, then our adults will feel guilty too.
This helps neither whites nor ethnics.
My ARC speech:
🚨Breaking: Buckingham Palace has officially downgraded the monarchy.
The King is now tasked with protecting "faith within the multi-faith nation" instead of being Defender of the Faith.
Britain is a Christian country with an established Church – this change erases our heritage.
King Charles's multi-faith agenda is now formal policy in the latest Sovereign Grant report. Our monarch should defend Christianity first and foremost, not play host to every religion.
Enough of diluting our identity. The Crown belongs to the Christian soul of Britain.✝️🇬🇧
As someone who has lived through NAFTA to Bush-era trade agreements to Trump economic protectionism, I can fully tell you the Left swings as wildly as any issue on "free trade." Given them ten minutes and they'll be hardened protectionists again.
Star Wars spent nearly 50 years building one of the most loyal fanbases in entertainment history. You don’t lose 85% of your audience because fans suddenly stopped caring. You lose them when you stop making stories they actually want to watch and then act like the audience is the problem.
Instead of asking why so many longtime fans walked away, Hollywood keeps insisting the answer is to double down on the same formula.
Can Star Wars ever win its fans back, or is the damage already done?
One of my favourite downpipes…not sure I had a particular thing for rainwater goods, until I saw this! 🤩 😂
One of the many excellent new(ish) interventions at Caernarfon Castle.
I'm as much an anglophile as an American can be and have intently watched British politics for years. I would have never imagined all the cries of "Republic, Republic!"--coming especially from the British Right--during the reign of Elizabeth II.
Charles is that much a disaster.
It's such a cornerstone of so much of Western culture that he's right.
you don't have to be fed the spiritual commandments, but understanding the culture behind it is critical.
🚨NEWS: King Charles III has revised the definition of the monarchy to protect 'Multi-Faith Nation'. He also added 'strengthening social fabric and cohesion to job description.
All or nearly all (at least 12 out of 13) of the charters for the thirteen original colonies referenced Christianity or Christian propagation/religion in some form.
Here are just three quotes from early leaders in our nation:
John Adams, 2nd President of the United States: “The general principles, on which the Fathers achieved independence, were the only Principles in which that beautiful Assembly of young Gentlemen could Unite….And what were these general Principles? I answer, the general Principles of Christianity, in which all these Sects were United.”
John Jay, 1st Supreme Court Chief Justice:
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers”
John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States:
“The highest, the transcendent glory of the American Revolution was this — it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the precepts of Christianity.”
The actual lesson that should be drawn from this is that the third world takes our immigration law so unseriously that when they are granted temporary status here, they take out mortgages expecting to stay forever.
THAT is the scandal.
This is not the mandate given to the British monarchy. There is no "multi-faith monarchy" but an explicit reference in the British king, head of the Church of England, to rule in the name of Christ Jesus.
