Wemby is literally my favourite basketball player. It’s painful we have to son him in the finals but like all good Comrades, they understand ‘to each according to his need.’
Knick fans NEED this.
Orange and blue skies baby. 🧡💙
Our belonging in Britain is always worth considering. There are constant reminders of a belief that we do not truly belong here or that we should never be accepted as members of this nation. But we are here and we have to consider the consequences of that.
Same with Shamima Begum. Ofc this is complex but many of us argue that she’s British, not Bangladeshi and that’s largely on the basis of her being born and raised here.
You cannot oversimplify these things for the sake of ease. These discussions require depth and we should encourage people to engage properly with these topics rather than just trying to simplify it for them. You cannot simplify these discussions, they’re complex.
The biggest takeaway for me around these conversations around Britishness and Englishness is that fundamentally, many people essentially believe in ethnonationalism. To me that’s problematic because your belonging in a nation should be more inclusive.
Let’s explore something else. I have ancestry from Jamaica, does that mean I’m more Jamaican than White people born and raised there? Are they more or less culturally English than I am? Am I more or less culturally Jamaican than them?
in less than five minutes julia showed the whole villa and everybody watching what a strong woman actually is by calling out lola on her misogyn|ntic ass. where are the fake feminists, jasmine and mica?? #loveislanduk#loveisland
6 million you know. We believed anything 😂 “history is written by the victors” I remember first reading that during one of the call of duties. It was so profound to me at that age lol
