[IT] ‘Welcome To My Blurred Muffled World’
I hope to increase awareness, empathy and compassion whilst creating a supportive platform for those with similar experiences. Channelling the many misconceptions about disabilities and chronic illnesses along the way.

Phone call from the hospital: you missed your appointment. Me: which appointment? Hospital: we sent the letter. Me: I told you before, I’m blind, email me. Hospital: We don’t use email. Me: what year is it?!! We have a right to accessible communication. #Accessibility
You know I empathise with everyone that the heat is strong. Trust me I know, I get migraines. I cannot handle it. But I’m also blind, telling me to switch the light off in my own home because it’s making you (a guest too!) uncomfortable. Is rather cheeky.
Hi disabled and/or chronically ill friends,
What is the hardest lesson you've learned existing as a disabled and/or chronically ill person existing in this ableist society?
When your happiness is tainted by other peoples life situation and instead of being able to enjoy your moment it’s full of distress, frustration and enraged miscommunication. So disheartening.
"It's fine! That car is too shiny to break down."
"But the floormats are immaculate. I don't understand why it won't run..."
"A check engine light? Nothing a trip through the car wash won't fix!"
That's seriously what most folks sound like to disabled ppl right now.
I need a therapy session like now and my therapist hasn’t replied to my message from four days ago. My frustration is overwhelming at this point and I do not have a coping technique for this unresolved emotion.
Are any Deaf organisations interested in producing opportunities for young Deaf graduates to develop career skills, provide workshops and paid internships?
Nothing triggers me as much as when someone says; ‘she doesn’t listen’
I openly tell you I am deaf, yes partially but I AM STILL DEAF. You cannot just listen harder to hear. Get a grip and use your brain.
It’s left me so drained emotionally and physically and triggers physical health problems like migraines and tinnitus. I really just need a break please.
Dealing with toxic behaviour from loved ones is my hardest trial. Whenever you try to communicate with them and express yourself they dismiss their behaviour and claim to be the one who is right. It’s beyond frustrating.
