Hunger is a crisis. It’s also one we can solve. Reliable funding to tackle #malnutrition and #hunger creates a healthier, more secure world.
For 45 years, we have led the sector in #innovation.
“Our teams on the ground have already begun raising awareness among medical staff by purchasing and distributing protective equipment to limit the risk of infection in health centers,” says Julie Drouet, Country Director for @Acontraelhambre in the #DRC.

Did you know? By age 2, a child’s brain reaches nearly 80% of its adult size. Good nutrition in the first two years helps children grow, learn, and stay mentally and physically strong. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth#NutritionMatters#ChildHealth

I arrived in Washington for the Spring Meetings of @WorldBankGroup, with a clear message: scaling finance for food security is critical for macroeconomic stability and part of the architecture of defense.
Yesterday, I spoke at a high-level discussion on innovative financing alongside partners including @acfusa, @GAFSPfund, and the Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security.
The constraint is not solutions - it is scale.
Food security sits at the intersection of development, stability, climate resilience and economic growth, yet small-scale producers at the first mile remain underfinanced despite delivering a significant share of the world’s food and absorbing global shocks.
Impact at scale requires also to work together with the private sector through the right toolbox, instruments and incentives. As an #IFI, @IFAD is working to close this gap by convening partners and assembling finance across regions and institutions, mobilizing blended finance, crowding in public and private capital, and building pipelines of investable rural economies.
At this moment, we must move decisively beyond perpetual crisis response toward systems-level transformation, linking immediate needs with long-term structural change and placing smallholder farmers, rural communities, and fragile contexts at the centre of global strategies to deliver lasting food security, stability, and peace.

Seeing the joy when water flows in a community is unforgettable. In Tula Mino village, East Hararghe, women & girls walked 3 hours to fetch 2 jerrycans of water. With support from the Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund, a rehabilitated borehole now brings clean water to 7,000 people.
This #WorldWaterDay, we’re reminded that clean water is the foundation of health. When we protect water, we protect futures. From #Lebanon to #Kenya to #Pakistan, we are on the ground providing life-saving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) support.
In Uganda’s refugee settlements, safe water means dignity, health, and hope for over 1.6 million refugees. On #WorldWaterDay, let’s stand for equal access—for every person, everywhere.

"With 3.7 million people in Kenya facing #acutehunger, we can't wait for disaster to strike. We must invest in #earlywarning systems and #communityhubs to build resilience before the next drought," writes our advocacy and communications manager: https://t.co/83thDi5MWC
In Waghimra Zone, northern Ethiopia conflict damaged local water sources, forcing women & girls to walk long, dangerous distances for unsafe water.
With support from @Sida, we installed a solar-powered water system now provides clean water for nearly 13,000 people. @SweinEthiopia
The current escalation across the #MiddleEastern region is compounding already severe #humanitarianneeds, disrupting essential services, increasing displacement, and placing both civilians and aid workers at heightened risk,” warns @ACF_MiddleEast Operations Manager.
