And Amina is only one story.
The question is not only what can they build?
It is also what becomes possible when the right support helps them move from plans to progress
The conversation continues. Let’s keep growing the possibilities.

This month, we started a key conversation: We explored realities of agricultural lending, the role of guarantees, and how ACGSF provides guarantee support to eligible agricultural lending through participating financial institutions
#GrowWithACGSF
Agriculture is a system. 🌱
Farmers produce. Aggregators connect. Processors add value. Transporters move. Markets connect products to buyers.
Each stage matters. Each stage can require financing.
When the value chain moves, agriculture moves.
#GrowWithACGSF#ACGSF
Agriculture needs more than land and labour.
It needs access to capital, equipment, markets, infrastructure and opportunity.
Because agricultural finance isn't just about funding a business.
It's about creating room for that business to grow. 🌱
#ACGSF
What happens when agricultural potential gets the financing it needs? 🌱
A farmer can move from “I want to expand” to “I can expand.”
A processor can move from “I can produce more” to “I can reach more markets.”

One important note: ACGSF does not replace the lender. The financial institution still assesses the applicant and credit request. The guarantee mechanism helps address part of the lending risk, creating a pathway for eligible agricultural businesses to access financing for growth
The financial institution wants to lend, but agricultural lending carries risks.
Where does ACGSF come in? A credit guarantee can provide additional assurance helping create greater confidence for participating financial institutions to lend to eligible agricultural businesses.
Meet Amina.
She’s a cassava farmer with customers, experience, and plans to grow.
But growth needs capital, equipment, working capital, and better market access. So, she approaches a financial institution for credit. Then comes the question: How do we manage the risks of lending?
For lenders, agriculture comes with its own set of uncertainties, weather, pests, market conditions, production cycles and more.
So how do we make agricultural credit more accessible while managing these risks?
This is where the conversation gets interesting.
#GrowWithACGSF
Agriculture is essential to our economy.
But for many farmers, turning a good agricultural idea into a growing business requires access to finance.
And accessing that finance isn't always straightforward.
So, what makes agricultural lending different?

What does a credit guarantee actually do? 🌱
A credit guarantee helps reduce the lending risk faced by a financial institution when providing credit to eligible agricultural businesses.
Here’s how it works. 👇
Where applicable, ACGSF provides guarantee support to the participating financial institution.
This helps create greater confidence around agricultural lending while supporting access to finance for eligible businesses.
That's ACGSF in simple terms.
Over the coming weeks, we'll break down:
→ How to apply
→ Who qualifies
→ How the guarantee works

Why does this matter?
Because when viable agricultural businesses can access appropriate financing, they have greater opportunity to invest, expand and contribute to food production, jobs and economic growth.
Who can benefit?
Eligible borrowers can include farmers, cooperatives, agro-processors, aggregators, exporters and other approved agricultural businesses.
Financing can support different stages of the agricultural value chain.
So, what exactly is ACGSF?
You may have heard the name before. But what does the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme Fund actually do?
Let's break it down. 🧵
ACGSF does not replace the financial institution.
Eligible borrowers approach participating financial institutions for financing.
The institution assesses the application and, where applicable, the loan is covered by an ACGSF guarantee.
