Stay out of the Maumee River. Water is flowing at 19K fps, making the current very fast, high, and dangerous. Tree limbs and woody debris create “strainers” which can trap and kill you. Stay safe during flood conditions.

St Mary’s River is at minor flood stage of 17 ft. Expect it to remain high through the weekend. Looks are deceiving, this water is moving with force and turbulence underneath the surface creating dangerous conditions. Stay away from all of our rivers when in flood stage
Woody debris collects near the Hosey Dam through the year, then is dislodged during flooding to create hazards downstream along the Maumee River. These move at high speed with the fast current making it too dangerous for any activity on or near the river. Think safety first.
Caution trail floods periodically. Avoid the Maumee Pathway and River area due to minor flooding. Expect another foot of flooding before the Maumee crests at 18.6 ft Friday morning. Do not enter flood waters.
Current Road Closures in Allen County due to high water as of 4/1/2026 at 8:30 AM. These roads are not passable. Find an alternate route.

Dozens of wires down around the county with more falling every minute. Treat every downed wire as a live electrical wire. Keep a safe distance. Let the experts sort out the type.
Turn Around, Don't Drown. 12" of moving water will cause most cars and small SUVs to lose traction, stall, and be swept off of the road. The roadway itself may have failed under the water creating an unseen risk. Do not enter flooded roadways.
Don't wait and see during a watch. Use that time to consider possible actions and prepare for the what if. It's too late to prepare when a warning is issued... it's already here.
Allen County, IN will NOT activate our outdoor emergency warning sirens as part of today's statewide drill. Weather conditions are too close to the real thing.
