Tenants in New Westminster win protections from extreme heat 🌡️
After years of organizing, ACORN members secured Canada’s first maximum heat bylaw, requiring landlords to keep units below 26°C overnight, with stronger A/C rights and enforcement.
In Edinburgh, four landlords have been removed from the landlord register after sustained pressure and direct action from members of @LivingRent_Edi Rent. This is a clear sign that the tide is turning against landlords who thought they could get away with neglect and abuse.
