ACPD arrested a man after responding to a breaking-and-entering incident on Friday, May 15, 2026. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported that an unknown person had entered their residence in the 2600 block of Hydraulic Rd.
While enroute, officers located an individual matching the suspect description in the area and detained the suspect. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Pierre Z. Tharpe of Palmyra, Va., was taken into custody by responding officers and faces the following charges:

ACPD has arrested a Cville man following a months-long investigation into a cybertip. In Jan 2026, investigators received a tip from the SoVA Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of potential child sexual abuse material being viewed in Albemarle.
As a result of the investigation, ACPD arrested 27-year-old Jonathan R. Rodriguez on Monday, May 18, 2026, with one felony count of possessing child pornography (§18.2-374.1:1) and four felony counts of possessing child pornography, second or subsequent offense (§18.2-374.1:1).
