On day two, we finished visiting all 18 @ACPSk12 schools. I always enjoy seeing students getting settled in to their routines & engaging with our school- based staff. Also, I am now selling tickets to see the ACPS Chiefs Band perform live. 🥁🎵🎶 #ACPSBack2School#BacktoSchoolVA
As my team planned for the first day of school this year, I emphasized how important it was we encapsulate the excitement of today because it is the first day for a student, a staff member or parent, even though it’s not for my team. #ACPSBack2School#ACPSFirstDay#BacktoSchoolVA
It is the first day of school for @ACPSk12 students today, so as we visit multiple schools today to welcome our students back, I am making sure we are being very demure, very mindful as we visit classrooms. #ACPSBack2School#ACPSFirstDay#BacktoSchoolVA
On #SchoolCommunicatorsDay, I would like to thank and acknowledge my team for always rising to the occasion, going the extra mile, and making a difference in the lives of our students, staff, families, and community! #schoolPR#communications
Today is #SchoolCommunicatorsDay! Help me thank our Department of School and Community Relations staff for their commitment to telling the ACPS story! 🎉 @NSPRA
Maybe @gwenstefani will see this parody of “Hollaback Girl” and will wish our @ACPSk12 students well on their Standards of Learning State Assessments! 🍌🙊📣
Do my best, do my best 🎶
On the test, on the test 🎶
The @williamramsayes community created this fun hype song to get students pumped for SOL testing. 💪 https://t.co/DPntMyNEs8
It’s official! I will be joining @ACPSk12 as the new Executive Director of Communications. I am so excited for this opportunity to work with the remarkable ACPS communications team and to continue the work of effectively communicating and engaging with all stakeholders.
Effective April 2, Daryl Johnson will be the new ACPS Office of Communications Executive Director. In this role, he will serve as the principal advisor providing comprehensive and proactive internal and external communications strategies and planning.

On the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream Speech,” his dream may not be fully achieved yet, but we must press on in honor of his legacy because dreams come to fruition everyday when we don’t lose hope.
Another First Day of School is in the books for me, but these are some of my favorite moments from being at the Transportation Hub before the sun came up to having a former APS student be the DJ welcome students back. All in, it was a great day! #APSBack2School
Look at what just arrived today! 😍 I’m so excited and can’t wait to dig into this rubric over the next few months as I set benchmarking goals for our communication programs. @NSPRA#pr#schoolpr#comms
The @NSPRA Communications & Equity Task Force hosted the Celebrating Equity Through Inclusion Mixer last night, which is where I spoke about how equity is not only a classroom concept, but how it has to transcend classroom walls to benefit our diverse communities. #NSPRA2023
I am honored to receive a Golden Achievement Award for the APS Home Address Process because some of the work we do in #schoolPR is not always about the glitz & glamour, but projects that are complex & essential, so winning this award means a lot to me! #NSPRA2023
