Sadly, it was hard to get this paper published. Apparently, it is hard to find a good home for papers about RCTs with so called “negative findings” (although we do not like this term). This warrants more discussion in the academic community! 10/10.

Randomised clinical trials of ACP in patients with advanced cancer are scarce. This study can help the debate about how to best support patient-centred care in this population. It may be relevant to not only focus on ACP, but to broaden the scope to alternative approaches. 8/10

Many patients valued the ACP conversations, yet, 16% found them distressing. This is something that deserves more attention.
Despite ACP being internationally recommended, RCTs of ACP in patients with advanced cancer are scarce. ..... 7/10

We found specialist palliative care to be more likely in the intervention group (37% versus 27%). Also, patients in the intervention group more often had an advance directive in their hospital file (10% versus 3%). It was striking that these numbers were rather low, though. 6/10
