Great turnout, hands-on learning, and everyone got to create something unique. Always good seeing students learn practical skills beyond the classroom.

Day 18.

I learnt about DHCP and DNS which I had been taught in the Intro to Networking. The DNS resolve the readable name of web address to their IP address.

DHCP configures the network parameters such as Gateway address, subnet mask and etc dynamically.

The router in a LAN servers as the DHCP server.

Another day, another small enterprise lab in Cisco Packet Tracer.

Built:
-3 VLANs across 2 switches
-Layer 3 switch for inter-VLAN routing
-Router for external/internet connectivity.
Made mistakes, fixed them, learned a lot. At this point I enjoy troubleshooting networks.
