Note to self…

Stop following what normal people do and stop worrying about what they think.

Most people are overweight, likely to get divorced, have less than $1k in the bank, can’t do 10 push ups or run a mile.

Remember, SUCCESS favors the PREPARED.

Respect yourself enough to set yourself up for success. If you aren’t prepared when the opportunity arises it will be meaningless.

Preparation is table stakes.

Maybe our kids don’t do epic things because they don’t see us doing epic things

Maybe our kids are afraid to take risk bc they see us afraid to take risk

We must show them. Courageously fail and succeed. Either way your kids need to see you do things EVEN when you’re afraid.

As Christian men we’re called to be tough as a LION & tender as a LAMB

This challenged me. A lot of non-Christians just think Christian men are soft & weak

The answer isn’t to swing completely over & only be a 🦁

Jesus - our perfect example - was the perfect balance of 🦁 & 🐑

A lot of people want the reward without the work.

Be above that. Do the HARD work and get the reward.

Honesty is the soil that intimacy grow in.

You can’t have true relational depth without honesty and truth. Sometimes truth is hard.

If you have relationships where you can’t share hard truths then soon it will be hard to share any truth.

Lack of intentionality leads to a repetition of what is easiest.

Be intentional. With your faith. With your family. With you health. With your money.

If you don’t you will continue doing what’s easiest. Easiest doesn’t lead to the destinations you desire.

If it’s not then we have to ask ourselves are we really sacrificing?

Do NOT let your feelings hop in the driver seat.

They are a terrible leader.

Give them a small voice. But if you simply follow your feelings you won’t end up where you want to be.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid anymore?

For me there are 2 things:
1) START - I’d quit “thinking” about my goals and dreams and take a step.

2) Do the hard things - what we want is generally on the opposite side of the things we least want to do.

We make our son memorize Scripture. We’re not perfect but we try to be practical.

This weeks verse is Romans 8:1.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Life requires action. Pursuing health (financially, relationally, spiritually, physically) requires action.

If you try you’re not going to die.

You’re just going to learn something.

Now go do the thing you know you need to but don’t want to.
