India's chess rise is one of the great sports stories of our era, backed by Adani, celebrated by PM Modi, embraced by cricket stars and the whole culture. That's what national belief looks like. American chess has the talent to compete at that level. What we need now is that same support behind our next generation. 🇺🇸

13-year-old Aamuktha Guntaka is one of India's latest Women International Masters! Aamuktha scored her 3rd and final WIM norm at the Sixdays Budapest IM-norm Round Robin in March 2026. She finished 3rd, scoring 5/9 points!
Aamuktha started playing Chess in 2022. In just 4 years of time, she has become a WIM and has a FIDE Rating close to 2300! Her mother sacrificed a lot to support Aamuktha - keeping gold loans, and many of her clients came forward to support the youngster! Aamuktha's coach Saket Pedagandham provided her training for free, recognising her immense talent.
Best wishes to Aamuktha and her amazing team - we wish her a speedy journey towards the IM title and much more!

We interviewed IM Roman Dehtiarov after his amazing performance at the European Individual 2026. Roman, being an IM with a rating of 2452, finished first ahead of 102 GMs. He not only won the event but also got a spot to the World Cup 2027, became a GM (without having to score any GM norms), got to meet the Ukrainian President and also received the Future of Ukraine award!
And guess what - Roman is just 17 years old (born in 2008)! Don't miss the interview with this soft spoken young lad, who attacks without a care in the world. Reminds us of a young Garry Kasparov.
