@IMSARadio Motorsport journo Andrew Charman, watching in Sussex having been forced into something called a holiday. Really got into your coverage this year, far too late I know!
@1990sBTCC@jclelandracing Loved covering the GP support races - gave me a free pass to the GP meeting and as the race was always after the F1 I could turn up at lunchtime in time to see the GP and drive straight into the press car park with no queues!
So sad to see how small @Autosport International show has become…I worked on the show for many years in the early 2000’s and to see it down to only two halls of the NEC is hard to see.
Someone needs to resurrect this wonderful bastion of British motorsport.
Seriously impressed by @Padmore56! And to think I first got to know him in the 1980s when his dad raced road saloons and had the garage just up from my kids’ first school! Not many can say they’ve finished 2nd at Monaco in a F1 car… https://t.co/amkv87ZO5s
@norramot@SimonArron Reminds me of the wad of stickers I was given as a schoolboy by the Surtees team after the 1976 Race of Champions. I put one on my school bag but on the inside due to the team’s sponsor at the time…
This was sad to hear - John Webb was the man in charge of the Brands group of circuits during the period when most of the pictures were taken and at one point I nearly went to work for him. A motor sport visionary, RIP.
The team at MotorSport Vision (MSV) is saddened to learn that John Webb, who oversaw Brands Hatch’s era as the home of British and European Grands Prix throughout the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, has died in Spain at the age of 92.
