@BrentRichter@NorthShoreNews That’s four or five businesses on Lonsdale in the past six weeks. There are lots of factors to consider but they all survived other economic downturns over the years as well as COVID so can’t help but think pay parking was the final straw. It’s death by a thousand cuts.
Expect temporary parking impacts in the Ambleside and Dundarave business areas the week of March 23 due to street tree pruning. This work helps support tree health, improve visibility and sightlines, and enhance streetscape aesthetics.

Whether you’re headed home late at night or up before dawn for an early morning shift, you can expect to see #WestVanPolice officers out on foot, helping keep #WestVancouver safe.
Starting last fall, WVPD stepped up proactive patrols in the Dundarave, Horseshoe Bay, and Ambleside business districts to provide additional public safety support and connect people in need with appropriate assistance.
So while you may not see us, we’re here and ready to respond if you need help.

Small businesses across BC say they’re at a breaking point.
New data shows BC small businesses are suffering the worst sales decline in the country.
Meanwhile, the NDP government is dismissing those numbers and insisting BC is actually leading the country in small business growth.
Tell that to the business owners who are shutting down.
To the ones dealing with rising violence, property damage, and costs that keep climbing while support from government falls short.
This NDP may want to argue with the numbers, but small businesses are living the consequences.
