Focus-MD is hiring physicians in Mobile, Fairhope, and Hoover, Alabama. You can help us help patients with ADHD and related conditions go from frustration to focus using our evidence-based approach!
Well this is good news- started meds in my 40s and at 62 I’m grateful for them every day. And yes, I am dependent on them- to treat my medical condition. Missed yesterday- no withdrawal other then mid morning headache but I still have ADHD, that’s for sure!
We are looking for physicians interested in caring for patients with ADHD and related disorders in our Huntsville and Fairhope Alabama offices. DM me if interested.
Is It Safe to Medicate Our Child with ADHD? https://t.co/ly35O4xAoU
STOP saying/writing/thinking MEDICATE THE CHILD. The child isn't the problem. The genetic, neurodevelopmental disorder called ADHD is the problem. Medicate that. I started to say please, but enough is enough.
@iamthejubster@adhdjesse The frustration is real. Everyday I tell patients, “you’re not ADHD, you’re a person. #ADHD is a diagnosis. No one says, “I’m asthma.” And you’re correct-
medical professionals are not paying attention to ADHD. Ironic.
You're not #ADHD. You're a person.
No one says, "I'm asthma."
A medical condition shouldn't be our identity.
If you are medicated, change medications. Medication should change #ADHD, not you.
#ADHD is associated with premature death. It doubles the risk of suicide (even in the absence of depression) & addiction. It triples the risk of car accidents. If you're a gifted person who happens to have #ADHD, don't give it credit for your awesomeness. That's about you!
Insurance companies with limited formularies or requirements for step-therapy with generic #ADHD meds are contributing significantly to the supply issues with these meds. When seeking solutions, examine who profits from problems in the US healthcare system.
@adhdjesse Comments are so good here.
Adult psychiatrists and pediatricians get next to zero training and it’s easier for docs to dismiss concerns that are complex and treated with CII meds when they only have a few minutes per visit. We’re trying to be part of the solution @FocusMD1
Daughter: mom do you get paid when you’re on call.
Me: only the RVUs from babies seen at the hospital or patients seen in clinic.
Also me: which sounds ridiculous now that I say it out loud.
We do so much uncompensated work as physicians.
ADHD: Medication alone doesn't improve classroom learning for children https://t.co/UKzfCUt8AC
Based on<8 weeks 176 subjects-Really?This isn't experience of 1000s of my patients. AND Reality- BPT/BTT/Dr. Pelham's 8-week program not available/affordable/scaleable to10% of US kids
