Back at Shawnee Mission South today, my old high school. Walking the halls again and talking with students brought back a lot of memories. I was a left-handed pitcher here, and the teachers and coaches who believed in me taught me the skills and values I still use in public service today.

I’m proud to be a product of Kansas public schools, and it’s a big part of why I’m running for Governor. Every Kansas kid deserves great teachers, strong schools, and a real shot at their future. Thank you to Dr. Todd Dain and everyone at South for putting this together, and to the teachers who welcomed us into your classrooms.
