We were having a lecture one time and the room was getting hotter. One of my colleagues raised his hand and asked if the professor could open the window behind him. Before I could say ‘Ah’, professor don open window and asked if we were okay🥹. In my mind, ‘daddy, a wa okay pa’😂
I wanted to show this professor something on my phone. She left her seat and knelt beside me (just to be comfortable, since I was seated).
The African boy in me still couldn't process that.
https://t.co/PVhV1P6gIx If a governor, vested with executive authority, direct access to state resources & immense constitutional power, couldn’t transform the condition of the people while in office, what becomes possible in the Senate that was impossible in Government House?
https://t.co/GlcaWbvOed Quentin Tarantino once said, with a restraint that barely concealed anguish, “Just because I was at an anti-police brutality protest doesn’t mean I’m anti-police. We want justice, but stop shooting unarmed people.” It is a simple plea.
Akala: A legacy on trial https://t.co/SHxGuDKKCM ..not everything that appears as a blessing is beyond question, and that some forms of wealth carry with them an obligation to explain, justify, and account for their origins and implications.
In Islam you’re not supposed to rush in killing a snake you see just moving or laying in your house.
You are supposed to call on the snake and warn the snake 🐍 three times to peacefully leave: that is because of the possibility that it may be a jinn . If the snake does not leave after these warnings, it can be removed or killed, but only if it poses a real threat. This approach reflects the Islamic principle of avoiding unnecessary harm to living creatures unless they pose danger.
May Allah keep protecting us. Amin
In addition to that:
Snakes generally do not attack humans unless they feel threatened, provoked, or cornered. They might strike in self-defense if they are accidentally stepped on, handled, or perceive danger.
