National thank a greenkeeper day today so club treated us to a breakfast plus I little presentation in recognition of my 40 years at the club, also raked bunkers, cut aprons, some flymowing, tree pruning & bit of servicing done.

Without greenkeepers, there would be no golf.

The ludicrously early starts, the kit that always needs fixing, the budgets that don’t stretch far enough, the unrealistic expectations of members asking one inane question after another, or the weather that always seems to be conspiring against you.

These guys just don’t get the credit they deserve for their resilience and perseverance. 👊 👏 🙌
