Recent immigrants across Canada are increasingly becoming homeowners while rates for Canadian-born citizens continue to decline, according to a new Statistics Canada report 🏡📉

StatsCan found more than 85 per cent of recent immigrants who owned a home in their first year had previously lived in Canada on work or study permits or asylum claims

The report also found at least 1 in 10 refugees became homeowners within five years of settling in Canada and that recent immigrants are purchasing more expensive homes than Canadian-born first-time buyers 👀

All of these anecdotal emotions are not rooted in facts. Which data shows abnormal delinquency from new immigrants? Housing affordability is a deeper issue than just immigrants. Our cultural, life style system needs to revamp to allow for greater savings, jobs and relevant skills

Foolish narratives this is exactly what’s happening & it’s got the housing market drove through the roof to the point we have record high mortgage delinquency rates , example Brampton Ontario! Housing cost are the root cause on why over 20 million people in Canada are living paycheque to paycheque over half the country is broke, that’s terrible. Over 2 million people dependent on food banks! Almost a hundred thousand people homeless.

Respectfully. If you have evidence, data, research to support your point of view, that immigrants take away homes, or succeeding without merit, then they would qualify as worth talking about. Otherwise aren’t they just conjectures?

@ADGeorge20 @nationalpost Foolish narratives? Our own people are homeless while immigrants come in and take their homes and jobs. These immigrants aren't successful based on their own merit. They cost Canadian taxpayers tens of Billions of dollars per year.
Our people should be our priority.
