🚨 [URGENT: Film screening venue received an email from the Chinese Embassy] 🚨
Yesterday (6/28), a screening of the film LOVE SUPREME took place at La Générale in Paris, France. In fact, nine days prior to this screening, a single email arrived at the venue from the local Chinese Embassy. With the permission of the screening organizers, we are sharing that email here.
To summarize, the content of this email is an invitation: "Why don't we launch a cultural cooperation project between France and China at La Générale?"
We have experienced a very similar pattern before. When we held a screening in Toronto (Canada) back in March, an event studying Xi Jinping Thoughtorganized by the local Chinese Consulate under the title "Understanding the People's Leader, Understanding Contemporary China" (感悟人民领袖 读懂当代中国)—was held at the exact same venue on the very same day.
We have confirmed that the screening information for LOVE SUPREME was uploaded to La Générale’s website on June 19th. And it was on that exact same day that this email from the Chinese Embassy reached the venue operators.
What was the Chinese Embassy's true intention?
Why are they keeping such a close eye on the rollout of this film?
LOVE SUPREME is a film that conveys the beauty of love, faith, and prayer that lie just beyond the point where human hearts overcome fear.
We will continue our activities with the utmost caution to protect the privacy and safety of our audience, and we will keep you updated on further developments.
