Talked to a guy for a few days before meeting in real life. He mentioned the phrase "I spent 6 years at art school" 27 times...

So what's a girl to do? Cry that I'm stuck in a career that isn't cohesive to being a parent, can't afford to retrain and that any possible decent opportunity goes to someone the person who's worked there before... Yes. That's what I'm going to do.

Found a job I really REALLY wanted. Got all the way to the final interview, powered through being sick to attend. I knew my delivery was probably rubbish but that my knowledge and content was at 100%. Just heard back. Didn't get the job. Shall we discuss the feedback?

They said that my interview was much stronger than they had expected from my CV. But other than that I had been "appointable" and the front runner the entire time but was pipped to the post by a last minute interview...with a contractor they've worked with before.

So yeah coming off anti depressants is weird... I've made a list of my ex's and their appropriate Taylor Swift songs and eaten roughly 15 ciabattas. So it's swings and roundabouts.

Also, while I'm ranting about this, given all the work @PregnantScrewed put into bringing the plight of working mums to the government. You'd think someone at the gov would consider working parents prime candidates for apprenticeships to retrain...

Trying to retrain is the hardest experience I've gone through in my working life yet. Industries are desperate for people with work experience to move into their realms, but pay 20k and only offer entry level apprenticeships.

There needs to be something in between t-levels and the newly announced "returnerships" for the over 50s. There's a wealth of workers 25(ish)-49 who want to retrain but can't afford to, because they have families and homes that they'd lose if they dropped to minimum wage.
