@abaukdiscussion “Start conditioning?” My daughter was already making up stories for these ducks and is in school, and has talked about school in plenty of other capacities. Maybe I should just keep her home so she doesn’t learn to interact with others? Since ABA is all about punishment 😂

@abaukdiscussion Funny how you claim to be an “expert” when you clearly don’t know my daughter or the situation. I understand that ABA is stifling to some and it isn’t for everyone, but my daughter has had a lot of freedom to be herself while learning to express herself without attacking others.

will gladly talk about ducks all day and create stories and songs about them. Her therapists have given her a lot of room to talk about ducks. She’s accepted there

@bowenkerins Former teacher here. TBH, many kids in 3rd grade don’t even read the directions unless told to. If your goal is to get them to read the directions, throw in this fun sentence into the directions: “PS. The first person to read this and quack like a duck gets a new pencil.” 🤪

@WhatTheADHD Dx’d ADHD. I will occasionally keep coming back to losses years after they happened with moments of sadness, even if I barely knew the person. The kid in my 5th grade class who died 3 years ago hits me just as often as the loss of my grandfather.

Tell that to my toddler, who would rather fall asleep screaming on an empty stomach and wakes up screaming still refusing to fill her empty stomach 😭
