@johnemiddleton Thankfully we started selling outside of Amazon, so we had some confidence. But that easy revenue was too tempting and by 2022 we were 40% Amazon gross. Now less than 1% and bigger, more net, and less stress.
@MehtabKarta It’s so stressful being on the brand owner side of this. So many single tech or payment stack or supplier or platform issues can
end a business like that 🫰
📣 Attention all new business owners! 💼🚀
It's natural to feel the urge to offer discounts when launching a new product or service. It might feel like the fastest way to attract customers and make sales. However, this strategy can lead to a challenging predicament that can be difficult to rebound from. 🚫🏷️
When you constantly discount your products or services, you inadvertently send the message that they may not be worth the full price. This, in turn, lowers your brand value and makes it challenging to charge full price in the future. 💰💸
Think about it: Would you consider buying a product at full price if you know it will be on sale next week? Probably not. And neither will your customers. 🧐
So, how can you avoid falling into the discount trap?
1. Focus on building value 🏗️. Communicate the benefits and value of your product or service, not just the price.
2. Improve your sales skills 💪. Practice makes perfect. The more you refine your sales techniques, the more confident you'll become in selling your product or service at full price.
3. Stand behind your pricing 💼. Have confidence in your pricing. If you're providing a quality product or service, it's worth every penny.
And what about friends and family? Should they get a "special" discount?
While it's wonderful to have the support of friends and family, remember that your business is your livelihood. They should want to support you by paying full price, just like any other customer. This isn't about charity; it's about valuing your hard work and the quality you offer. 🙌
Running a business isn't a sprint; it's a marathon. And the journey to success starts with valuing your offerings appropriately. So, stay strong, trust your worth, and keep striving for greatness.
Your business deserves it. YOU deserve it. 💎🎯

Appropriate places to wear a VR headset:
-Anywhere in the privacy of your home.
-In your soul-sucking cubicle at work.
-In a long plane ride, esp in coach.
-In the hospital, to engage mind.
-On a really, really bad date
And that’s it. Don’t wear in street, gym, driving, biking, or skating.

What are your unique traits?
@SolportTom We’ve been approaching a number of ways, biggest hurdle is mass adoption or it’s viewed as confusing/ hurts conversion rate. Solana is so new it only touches a tiny demographically similar group. Thinking how to make a store that sells something those people want specifically.
@MetaforBusiness going on day 90 of a blocked business manager and associated ad accounts for no reason. Now we get attempts to close the case citing the WRONG business manager and a person who doesnt even work for our company. We lost 100s of thousands thanks to this. HELP.
@FBBusiness it has not been 14 days with no meaningful response from Facebook on our mistakenly disabled business manager and ad accounts. All we get back is copy pasta responses that mean nothing. Can someone that actually knows how to help please look at this issue?
@CameronWalkerSZ They’ve been trying to hire this position for 2.5 years now in shenzhen. I don’t think a person exists that can truly fulfill what they expect from this role due to immutable cultural differences.
@MbtHawk There’s no more concise description of selling on Amazon than, “Learn to love what you hate.” I do hope it changes though and it has been getting marginally better in the last 8 months!
@gopalkolli@ShinghiD Cheaper commodity products won’t influence outside purchases. Price in the $80+ range and Americans will do a quick check outside of amazon.
@Molson_Hart Anyone who bought any amount of crypto 2 years ago now has at least 10x the original amount with zero added work. The question is, is it the top or is it the beginning of the bubble?
@Bannedforself@Molson_Hart@eyemightbewrong Taxing foreign operators using Americans as personal piggy banks would be a good step. What we do with the tax money is the problem, should be placed into a lending pool for privatized insourcing initiatives. Will never happen.
