BREAKING: House Passes Funding Deal to Reopen Government Through January 30

After 43 days, the longest government shutdown in U.S. history is coming to an end.

The House has passed the Senate-approved continuing resolution, sending the legislation to @POTUS’s desk for his signature. The bill will reopen the government and fund most agencies through January 30, 2026, while three full-year funding bills will cover select departments.

While the bill did not include the healthcare tax credit extensions Democrats had demanded, party leadership secured a promise for a vote on the issue by mid-December.

This vote marks the first time the House has been in session since September 19. Lawmakers are expected to return to negotiations ahead of the next funding deadline in early 2026.
