@A5T3R0lD@JoeCarlasare Here's another example, my old condo in Oak Brook that I paid $185k in 2005 for and put $50k into renovations. Still way under the inflation rate for the last 20 years. Most of the potential appreciation goes to property tax.
@JoeCarlasare@A5T3R0lD Here's my basic math. My parents bought a nice brand new home in Orland in a gated community in 2006 for $511k sold it last year for $585k and paid $12k in property tax annually. Not a great investment.
@dotkrueger One monopoly you didn't talk about was the robot monopoly. AI only companies will probably trend towards $0 for the reasons you mentioned. I can't open source a robot.
@atmoio I feel software will trend towards free. One man companies will disrupt current bloated organizations. Building a community around the software will be very important and the companies that reward their users will win.
