@thecatwhochats@JamesMartinSJ No…he pretended to be to get all the votes…and those people were stupid enough to think he would do anything that was good for them!
I just published a NEW BLOG POST: It's Report Card Time and a Student's Project is Missing. Now What?

Just to clarify...
%-based grading didn't come down on 3rd tablet from Mt. Sinai. There are more reliable ways.
At best, you get an incomplete view of the learner; at worst, you get an unreliable view of proficiency.

#Bced I’m really looking forward to this session where we explore ways to determine (not calculate) grades that reflect student learning in #PHE. How can we convert prof scale, letter grades, & %s? Come dive in on May 25, 7-8pm. To register: https://t.co/vXrk6NxNIH
@MrBlairsClass @globeandmail This is Zwaagstra's absurd take on the excellent approach to grading and reporting in BC. Why does the Globe and Mail publish such rubbish?https://t.co/aFDyS03XKq

A message I’ll be sharing w/ teachers from Dr. @tguskey’s closing keynote at the @SolutionTree Annual Conference on Grading & Assessment:
“Parents’ and students’ greatest concern about fairness in grading?
Inconsistency in grading practices among teachers in the same school”
🔥Pro #grading tip:
Avoid the temptation to use half scores on the 4-pt scale (.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5)
This increases the number of performance levels, decreasing accuracy & reliability--while providing the illusion of precision.😵

@tessvanstraaten Maybe the commenter should learn to spell inappropriate before calling someone’s outfit as such! IGNORE and wear what you want…it’s 2023, after all!
