John Kane: “…a fairly apolitical agency whose job it is to is to secure a healthy safe space for students… decided not only 20 years ago, but now, that it was time for these schools to stop exploiting one specific people for further amusement and entertainment as mascots.”

Coming up - #NYBudget potpourri with Sen. @bradhoylman-Sigal, @LizAGMoran explains Hochul's effort to weaken the CLCPA, public schools told (again) to lose Native American mascots and Assemblymember @annakelles tries to save carsharing. https://t.co/4OLKycJWzO

Also: how are they going to sweep all these schools in time to open? Some (Granville) are announcing closures now. Waiting to see with the rest, I guess.

@mercutioad@Simplyseams1@BeschlossDC I’m not certain the origin but my husband’s grandmother said they ate oyster—breaded and fried—very thanksgiving, sometimes without a turkey (if the hunters weren’t lucky). Oysters were a cheap source of protein back in the day.
