A Different Kind of West Episode 2, Scene 1 Remaster.

Started last night and already nearing completion on the Episode 1 remaster as well. This scene was completely reworked for tone and atmosphere, including updated lighting, materials, and character presentation. Van’s new leather wardrobe gave the scene the heavier visual presence it always deserved.

The goal with these remasters is simple: make the world feel exactly the way it did in my head when the story was first created. Darker, colder, and more cinematic.

UPDATE FROM THE STUDIO‼️

I won’t be producing any new episodes until my Butterfly Tracker Kit ships (shipping begins August 31st). Once it arrives, I’ll be building my own full mocap suit and creating a custom animation library from the ground up. This will allow me to generate original motion capture performances and elevate the quality of all future episodes.

In the meantime, I’m putting that time to good use.

I’ll be remastering Merc Bros. Episode 1 in Blender 5.0, fixing the long-standing hair, fur, and feather “crawl” issue that’s affected several recent Blender versions. The goal is a cleaner, smoother, more polished visual experience.

And that’s not all.

While the remaster is underway, I’ll also be developing a brand-new 4:19 game app! Launching first on the Google Play Store.

It will be:

A Different Kind of West EP 2 should be completed today at some point. I had to redo the beginning scene. Jim's pants needed the emitter turned down because it caused a fast strobe effect on Van's dress.

As you can see, the new version of the scene has the effect turned down to where you can still see the mark on Jim's pants, yet it's no longer overwhelming. It does have to be turned up for certain scenes where Jim is agitated, etc. Since the mark of Balance reacts to the one carrying it. 😎
