US August PCE (the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge) is due tonight at 6:00 PM IST. Consensus expects some firming in core inflation.

Those celebrating a green Nifty should stay alert — a hot print can reverse risk appetite quickly.

Protect profits and manage risk.

Process note:

One session is not a sector call. Until crude and US yields ease, duration and discretionary sleeves need a written rationale — not a bounce chase.

Stay allocated. Rebalance. Don’t react to expiry noise.

Sector scorecard | 29 Sep

Laggards: Durables -2.7%, Chemicals -2.3%, Realty -2.0%, IT -1.5%, Auto -1.3%
Leaders: Metal +0.8%, Pharma +0.6%

Midcap -1.0%, Smallcap -0.8%. Banks recovered from lows but closed red.

Why it split this way:

Crude near $107 hit auto, chemicals, FMCG margins.
High US yields + FII selling hit realty and durables.
Weak rupee did not save IT — global risk-off won.
Expiry unwinding added beta selling.

Pharma/healthcare stayed defensive.

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

Sensex -243 at 72,529 | Nifty -64 at 22,716 after recovering from lows.

Drivers: crude near $107, FII selling, high US yields, weaker rupee + expiry unwind. IT & durables led losses.

Stay process-driven. One session is not a plan.

Do not read a rising yield as a rising bond price. Price and yield move in opposite directions. US 10-year near 5.21%. India 10-year near 7.17%. Existing bond holdings are marked down. New money earns more. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #BondYields #PersonalFinance

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

Rising yields mean falling bond prices. India's 10-year is near 7.17%, a recent high, as US yields sit near 5.21% and Brent stays around $105. The import bill and the cost of money are moving together. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #BondYields #India #Nifty

Don't catch a falling knife. Nifty is near 22,780, about 1.6% under Friday's 23,140. Seven red weeks is a trend, not a dip to buy on the way down. A weekly close has to turn first. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #Nifty #StockMarket

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

Nifty has not printed one green weekly candle in 7 weeks. Friday was green. The week was not. Close: 23,140, about 12% under the 52-week high. This week has opened under that close. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #Nifty #StockMarket #WeeklyChart

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

Bond prices are falling, not rising. The US 10-year is near 5.21%, India's 10-year near 7.17%. A higher yield is a lower price. Dearer government paper raises the hurdle for equities. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #BondYields #Markets

On this day in 1907, Bhagat Singh was born in Banga. He was hanged in Lahore on 23 March 1931, aged 23, with Rajguru and Sukhdev. A revolutionary, and a writer who argued for a free mind as well as a free country. #BhagatSingh #BhagatSinghJayanti

War has not crashed the market in a day. It is still repricing it. Nifty is near 22,870, about 1.2% under Friday's 23,140. Brent is still ~$105-107. The US 10-year is near 5.2%. Oil and yields are the channel. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #Nifty #CrudeOil #BondYields

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

For India the channel is the import bill, not the headline. Brent is still around $105-107. A higher oil bill pressures the rupee, fiscal math and foreign flows. Yields near 5.2% raise the hurdle for risk assets. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #India #Nifty #Markets

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

What the war does to the global economy: a risky Strait lifts crude, diesel and freight. That feeds inflation expectations, then bond yields. The US 10-year is near 5.2%. Dearer money is the second shock. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #GlobalEconomy #CrudeOil #BondYields

War, 28 Sep. The June US-Iran understanding is over. Tehran offered a 7-day Hormuz reopening via Qatar. WSJ reports Trump rejected it. No ceasefire. The risk premium stays in oil. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #Iran #Hormuz #WarUpdate

[Abhishek sharma @ADsharma22]

Crude and yields, 28 Sep. Brent is still around $105-107 after the Hormuz risk premium. The US 10-year is near 5.2%. For India, that is the import bill and the cost of foreign money. Not advice. https://t.co/RYvDnoC42a #CrudeOil #BondYields #Markets
