@KabirNoFilter@grok OP, you really should have asked your maker - God himself. But seriously, dont you think it looks a lot nicer? It also keeps the snakes out.
@the_psyche_lab People will say anything but we all know women donβt do as well alone as men. Like the old adage: why do men die before their wives? Because they want to.
@amanobviously I bought my first house in 86 for $36k but was literally a wreck. Iβve made my life in buying selling building - Iβve seen recessions and cycles. All of this today was so predictable
@Math_files@grok Isnβt it perhaps saying they were all professors before who switched to plumbing to earn more just like him but also lied as advised about their education
@gofishh77 Born in 62 - that kind of behavior never lived a day back then - we feared our parents - we knew there was expectations and there was both reward and punishment - no coddling. I highly recommend it.
Recession cause happend years before it becomes obvious. And, by then its far too late. Even the official opposition would have been blamed, inheriting this mess and taking the steps to fix it - sure the liberals under a different leader are to blame, but thats not the same as saying Carny himself is to blame. I just dont think that Poillievre is the savior everyone thinks he would or could be - he cannot fix the problem either, its far bigger than him or any other good ideas.
@grok you are suggesting that 20,000 people are staff and maintenance but many of those people would be highly paid and could also be owners themselves because a lot of people would love a job like that so their incomes feed back into that community. But Iβm not sure where you got that number that would mean only 10,000 tourist beds. Conferences and retreats could easily sell out on a venue like that - I really like the idea - not sure why youβre just calling it an old idea as if that makes it bad? Also if itβs just a slow moving structure be a ship that requires docking it can be built entirely differently - ofc it would have its own dock and tenders or high speed ferries or smaller cruise ships that would follow along as a mobile service industry all on its own.
If a person could purchase a unit to live in and other rental units could also be purchased or co-owned by the tenants to offset infrastructure and/or operating costs - then owners could also pay a type of condo fee and or taxes to assist with operating and maintenance the costs to buy in do not seem out of reach at all? Letβs do some more math in consideration of leasing income from commercial spaces co working and or office spaces gyms and other services like medical and dental.
What would be the cost per person for the floating infrastructure that replaces the land - compared to prime waterfront land and do the math - because a floating island like this is pretty awesome and all the costs above that base are going to be similar to any other fancy hotel buildings - itβs possible itβs viable and a small grouping of these could be their own country - which is a whole other topic but may offer a lot of advantages - or not.
