Trying to understand the world, so may be some time. Views my own (but slightly similar to the organisations I work for) Worried the economy is killing us :(
When leaders like Starmer blather on about “tough choices”, why is it *always* code for hitting some of the poorest hardest? Where’s the “tough choice” of a wealth tax on the super-rich? Why do shivering pensioners have to pay the price for “fixing the foundations”? #bbclaurak
I’m not inclined to leave twitter - because if all the people who post nice stuff leave - then we are allowing the cess pit people take over - let’s fill this thing with art and books and birds and flowers and jokes etc - let’s swamp it with good stuff - reclaim it
Both of the actions you see in these photos potentially amount to the offence of ‘public nuisance’.
One is punishable with “long, long prison sentences” & the other is rewarded with huge bonuses & billions in profits.
Why the disparity? What does this mean for the rule of law?
A stark warning from @DanielaGabor ...
"Handing vital infrastructure to private investment companies will generate windfalls for investors and leave the rest of us worse off. We need a better plan."

This is getting ridiculous - how can Farage constantly get airtime with no one pointing out to him & viewers the Brexit he championed has by almost every economic & financial measure been disastrous for the UK?
If that outrages you as much me RT this widely
Over the last decade there is only one venue in London which has asked me to speak about the Post Office Scandal. In Jan 2022 the @TheWansteadtap, (prompted by @newhambookshop) got me involved. It sold out. The recording is now available for free. More power to your tap room.
Just heard the Home Secretary stand up in Parliament and declare that "the British people support the Rwanda plan".
I'm sick of these guys telling me what I support.
I do not support the "Rwanda plan".
If you don't either, please retweet.
3. Refitting is far more expensive, disruptive and difficult than building homes right in the first place. It's the mother of false economies. Shoddy homes are being built not for our benefit, but to allow the construction industry (a major sources of Tory funds) to cut corners.
The flooding pictures are coming in from our property teams. It’s extraordinary that critics say the National Trust shouldn’t campaign on climate change and we should stick to our ‘true purpose’. Caring for places like this is what we do; fire and floods destroy them.
