We were on a long road trip recently. I observed the fuel gauge was on empty as we approached our destination. I drove straight to a gas station. Then it struck me that gas stations don’t chase people. Those running on empty tanks find them.

@DVLAgovuk Hi Lily. Another Friday and still expecting receipt of ID, so can travel! Aside work, family is bereaved, so need to go be with brother whose wife was buried two weeks ago. Please, fastrack return of passport, it’s past 10wks, this is torture for me! Can reach me on 07538262343.

@DVLAgovuk Many thanks Beth for your reply. I just checked date for treatment of applications with non - Uk passport, you are currently on 10th August, how do I retrieve my passport whilst the process continues, I really need to make a work journey in 8 days. Please advise. Thank you!

@pastorpoju Extremely well stated Ps Poju! Good intentions are not enough. Leadership is an activity, not a position. It is what you do and not who you are! The activity of communicating & relating with others speaks volumes about good leadership. Position is never the test to rely on!

@sam_adeyemi So true sir. A critical leadership competence required to be developed by those who aspire to lead well, is self management. People who are keen to manage their strengths, weaknesses and vulnerabilities; and understand that authority is meant to render service and not for self.

An important leadership lesson we can learn from the EndSARS protests across the country is that - ‘leadership can be exercised without authority’! The youths decided to take action, question the status quo and demand accountability from those in authority. That is Leadership!

@sam_adeyemi It needs to be emphasized that being a member of the Legislature, a minister in the Federal Cabinet, or Mr President is not leadership but simply occupying an authority position! Leadership begins with actions taken to solve problems for the common good of the citizens.

@sam_adeyemi Very true sir! Our authority figures must always appreciate leadership expressed in empathy and love. Power, position and titles remain tools; with which to serve the people. They represent a means to an end; and must never become the end in itself.

People in leadership positions need to realise that the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need for good leadership globally. More than power, positions or titles, humanity must be at the centre of the leadership process. Love and leadership go together. #leadership

The 1999 Const. in S14(2)(a) states clearly:
"Sovereignty belongs to the people of Nigeria from whom government through this Constitution derives all its powers and authority"
Our leaders are agents of the people - principal, so must render account. #PTTP
