South African businessman, Patrice Mostepe appointed president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Will he do a better job than his predecessor? I'm skeptical.
List of all CAF presidents*:
Abdel Aziz Abdallah ๐ช๐ฌ
Abdel Aziz Moustafa ๐ช๐ฌ
Abdel Halim Muhammed ๐ธ๐ฉ
Yidnekatchew Tessema ๐ช๐น
Aissa Hayatou ๐จ๐ฒ
Ahmad Ahmad ๐ฒ๐ฌ
Patrice Mostepe ๐ฟ๐ฆ
(*) Not including temporary mandates.
Issa Diop wants to be known as a French player, even if he's never selected with France NT.
He does not really want to be selected by France, he does not want his name associated with a African team, ie: reduce his market valuation.
That's hypocritical PR move as well.
๐ Issa Diop two years ago:
"I'm born in France, I owe everything to do them. This is my country. Joining another national team by default would be hypocritical on my part. Even if I was never to be selected, my stand on this will not change. "
@bylka613_ Yes Indeed, but the point is: Gulf leagues did not make these players better. They are simply some excellent players who, for some reason, did not make it to Europe.
